If you saw me yesterday I was probably just a blur running around South Minneapolis. It was a non-stop day from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m and I loved it. I’m feeling a bit more caught up and a bit more human. I’m switching it up, though, and taking it a bit slower around here this morning, sipping some cider, reading and lingering in pajamas as long as possible. The snow has gently started to fall so just another excuse to hang indoors while I can. I hope you’re able to soak in this Sunday morning and enjoy these links from around the web!
The Erickson casa is really kicking off the New Year on a strong note. We’ve spent the last two days on a project rampage. Christmas decorations are away, sheetrock is going up in the basement, nursery closet is getting a serious overhaul, we’re sorting, we’re cleaning, we’re freezing (why is it still so cold?!) and it’s a great feeling (except for the cold). Let’s hope we can ride this wave right into the week ahead. It’s going to be a busy one. Enjoy these links while I sand the closet walls!
How have you been this weekend, pals? We’ve been bundled up and busy around these parts. Friday was a Christmas kick-off with family (you know we’re getting old when we went to dinner and a show and were still in bed before 10), yesterday was errands, baking and dinner with pals and today is more of the same. No complaints around theses parts! I’m just making my list and checking it twice before the holidays officially arrive. We’ve got less than four days until our next batch of fun starts (gift exchanges, bell ringing, travel and more!). Enjoy these links from around the web while I try to avoid the cookies in the kitchen:
The gods of sleep aligned this morning and I somehow snoozed until after 9 a.m. This is a miracle. A miracle that hasn’t taken place in far too long. In theory, I should have tons of energy to conquer the day but, truthfully I’m still easing into it. While I pour another cup of hot cider, enjoy these links from around the web:
Welcome to December, friends! I’m feeling on top of all things holiday at the moment but we’ll see how long this momentum lasts. We’ve got a long few weeks ahead, cookies to bake, meals to prep, white elephant gifts to secure, travel plans to finalize and, on top of all this, why must it get dark at 4:30?! I’m struggling to stay awake past 9 these days. While I try to cram the most into this December Sunday enjoy these links from around the web!
The last 36 hours I have been a tornado of productivity and it feels great! The halls are 98% decked for Christmas (making one more Michael’s run today… so many deals!), I’m just about caught up on freelance work, I made a dent in a 700+ page book for book club, raked the yard (again), shopped for Thanksgiving, conquered a warehouse sale, worked out and even managed to tidy up a bit along the way. I wish I could kick up my heels and coast for the rest of the day but I’ve got to ride this wave while I can. Look out library, errands, patio project final touches and basement storage, you’re on my list. Enjoy these links while I run around like the crazy person I am!
Lately, I’ve been in one of two modes: either complaining about the cold and snow or fighting the urge to put up Christmas decorations. It’s been a struggle. Thankfully the sunshine this weekend slowed my roll a bit and I was in neither of the two modes above! Instead, the Red Head and I were outside putting finishing touches on the patio (more to come this Spring, of course). The project has been quite the labor of love and I cannot wait to have some happy hours there next summer. While I got sweep a little more sand into the patio seams, enjoy these links from around the web:
I did it, guys. I put on Christmas music this morning. I’m not necessarily proud of it but when you wake up at 5 a.m. (thanks, daylight savings!) and dive right into freelance work you need something to carry you through! Good news is that I’m almost done with work for the day so the tunes will be shelved for maybe another few weeks. We’ll see…
What have you been up to this weekend? Any holiday tunes in your world just yet? Looking at the week ahead I’m trying my hardest not to schedule anything. It’s tough but after our trip we’re still playing catch-up at our house. Also, we have a 90% done patio that needs to be at 100% before it snows anymore! Wish us luck and enjoy these links from around the web this week!
I fully intended to skip the weekend wrap up this Sunday but, what do you know, jet lag had me up around 6 so here we are. I’ve already conquered the grocery list, a Sam’s Club run, a library return, a Target trip, three loads of laundry and some freelance work so I’m feeling back on track after a week away. All that before 1 p.m. isn’t too bad! Check in with me around 4, though, I have a feeling I’ll be dragging. While I delay the inevitable enjoy these links from around the web and look for a full Morocco recap from me soon, it was quite the trip!!
I spent less than 24 hours in Ames, Iowa for a football game and you’d thought I had run a marathon the way I’m feeling today. I think 7 p.m. sounds like a good idea for a bedtime, no? The Red Head and I are gearing up for a busy week ahead before some international travel (!!) so as I prop my eyelids open and make a grocery list and packing list, enjoy these links from around the web this week!
