How’s daylight savings treating you today, friends? Maybe I should ask again in 12 or so hours? It’s been a wild weekend around here. I have one baby shower under my belt and it was absolutely lovely! In-between those festivities, we’ve been visiting with family, chipping away at house projects and trying to find room for all the baby stuff. These little buggers are spoiled already (Exhibit A)! Today is round two of all the same adventures and I am so, so excited. Enjoy these links from around the web while I start working on thank you notes. We’ve got a lot to be thankful for!
Holy smokes, I knew we were going to be busy this weekend but I can’t believe how many hours the Red Head, my sister, friends and family put in. We are so, so lucky and so, so thankful. Between all of us there was taping and mudding of Sheetrock, priming of walls and ceilings, paintings of walls and ceilings, assembly of bassinets and strollers, building of more walls, fireplace stone scrubbing, cleaning of dust, mopping of dust, sanding and creating more dust… It was wild and we’re through the thick of it (I hope). Now we’ll keep chipping away at the to-do list and counting down the days until carpet arrives on the 24th. There’s a light at the end of the basement re-model. It’s faint but it’s there. Can you see it?! Enjoy these links from the web while we fall into a serious Sunday night slumber.
It’s a snowy Sunday here in the land of 10,000 lakes! How are you holding up in your neck of the woods? Hopefully you’re cozy, warm, done shoveling and enjoying a cup of something warm if you’re dealing with a similar forecast. This weekend has been a blur of catching up around the house, numerous hardware store trips, evenings with colleagues turned friends and the previously mentioned white stuff. I’m not complaining, though. Weekends like this may be numbered so we’re soaking them up while we can. Enjoy some links around the web while I top off this hot chocolate!
The Red Head and I are just walking in the door from 24 hours with great friends in Wisconsin and have a dog that’s happy to see us, some Sunday scaries to fight off and an early bedtime calling our name. Sounds like a pretty nice afternoon to me! Enjoy these links from around the web while I start the process right but putting on some pajamas.
I discovered this morning that making pancakes is not one of my strengths. Unless you’re into slightly overcooked, misshapen pancakes… then I’m your gal! Good news, though, I added some chocolate chips to the last few and all was forgiven and the Erickson household is well fed for a day of more basement projects, life catch-up and hopefully some reading in bed at an embarrassingly early hour. Enjoy these links from around the web while I sort the endless laundry (where does this stuff come from?!).
The Erickson crew has been about all things Super Bowl this weekend plus a dash of house projects, would we have it any other way?! Friday was an evening at Mall of America taking in Radio Row, tons of festivities and some dinner. Saturday was an adventure on Nicollet Mall seeing the countless activations, dodging snowflakes and crashing concerts and today is Super Bowl Sunday! We’re off to meet up with some friends but have loved the energy in the city this week. Now, everyone go home so traffic can go back to normal, ha! Enjoy these links from around the web this week.
The strangest thing happened last week, friends. We can blame pregnancy brain or life or the Super Bowl taking over Minneapolis or travels to San Francisco over the weekend, but I completely forgot to blog the last few days. It never even crossed my mind somehow. I’m not quite sure how that happened but I’m back now, coming up for air (briefly) and ready with some links from around the web. Enjoy!
Birthday weekend away was a smashing success! I finished a book, we completed two puzzles (I can’t take too much credit here), ate far too many M&M’s, ventured into the Wisconsin Dells (always an adventure) and had a great couple of days unwinding. Now, we’re frantically trying to check a couple things off our list before the Vikings game starts. Fingers crossed the outcome goes our way! The Red Head is quite anxious right now. Enjoy these links from around the web while I try to talk him off the deep end!
If you saw me yesterday I was probably just a blur running around South Minneapolis. It was a non-stop day from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m and I loved it. I’m feeling a bit more caught up and a bit more human. I’m switching it up, though, and taking it a bit slower around here this morning, sipping some cider, reading and lingering in pajamas as long as possible. The snow has gently started to fall so just another excuse to hang indoors while I can. I hope you’re able to soak in this Sunday morning and enjoy these links from around the web!
The Erickson casa is really kicking off the New Year on a strong note. We’ve spent the last two days on a project rampage. Christmas decorations are away, sheetrock is going up in the basement, nursery closet is getting a serious overhaul, we’re sorting, we’re cleaning, we’re freezing (why is it still so cold?!) and it’s a great feeling (except for the cold). Let’s hope we can ride this wave right into the week ahead. It’s going to be a busy one. Enjoy these links while I sand the closet walls!
