I’m signing off early this week, packing up the car with everything I own, it seems, and hitting the road for a weekend in Chicago celebrating one of my best gals before her wedding day next month! I’m sure there will be a pillow fight as pictured above. Ha! When we’re done frolicking in our matching white men’s button-down shirts (eye roll!), we’ve got a full itinerary of other activities to keep us busy! I’ll fill you in on all the details next week but, for now, lips are sealed so the bride-to-be is surprised. Enjoy your weekend, friends! Pillow fights and all…

If anyone is in the market for a beautifully embellished cocktail dress, please buy this one. I love, love, love it and secretly want to get married again so I can wear it at the reception.

In just a few short hours, my sister is flying into Minneapolis! I’ve got onion dip prepped, good shows on the DVR, nails that need to be painted, a puppy that truly adores her and, to top it all off, we have a fun-filled wedding tomorrow. We definitely won’t be bored (or quiet) the next few days. Hope you have a great weekend and a wonderful Easter!

In the next month I have two weddings and a rehearsal dinner on the calendar. This means it’s time for a closet inventory (I don’t do last minute panic and event outfit prep very well). In a mid-afternoon jaunt around the Mall today I grabbed this shift dress from H&M and am thinking it will be perfect for the rehearsal dinner. Thankfully, I’ve got the majority of the pieces above to complete the ensemble. One down! Wish me luck with the rest.

Somehow, 365 days ago I was lucky enough to make this Red Head my husband. It’s a privilege that’s hard to put into words and a relationship I would be lost without. Thanks for making me a better person, being the best puppy papa in all the land and my best friend, Cole. I love you. Now let’s celebrate with delivery pizza and Sunday football. That’s how we roll.

As if we had forgotten about Vogue’s incredible taste and vision this wedding dress piece was a very colorful reminder. Kudos.

If you live in the Twin Cities or surrounding area, you’ve probably heard Falen or “Meat Sauce” on the radio during your morning commute. Well, now you can put a face to the voice because the two hilarious radio personalities were married on Friday and my pal, Brandon, captured the whole thing as only he could. Every image, as expected, is AMAZING but that veil blew my mind. So beautiful. So, so beautiful. Check out the rest of the perfect details here.

I have a long to-do list for tonight, but I have a feeling that tasks will be interrupted to laugh at the photo booth pictures from our wedding. We just got the disc last night and can’t wait to share with family and friends. Hope you have as much fun tonight as my cousin did at our reception! What a ham.

Sorry I left you hanging on the grand finale of wedding week! I woke up yesterday, pinched a nerve in my neck and spent the rest of the day laying perfectly still in bed. It was brutal but I’ve got a bit more mobility today and just had to finish the week with photos from our reception. The funniest thing, to me, is checking out the people in the backgrounds of the action shots. So many great faces, funny poses, genuine laughs… I love it! I could look at these all day.
Our first dance was to Justin Timberlake’s “That Girl.” Of course!
The squirrel mask from bachelorette weekend made more than one appearance that night.
Late night walking tacos were a hit! We ordered all the fixings from Mexico Clasico and they were gone in a flash!
Chris Mix, from Scratch Weddings, kept the dance floor packed all night!
Thank you for allowing us to share our wedding with you this week. It was definitely a highlight of 2013 and I can’t wait to see what 2014 and the years ahead hold. A special thank you to all our vendors as well. You were great friends and partners and helped make September 21 perfect.

One thing I knew for sure when we started wedding planning was that I wanted to do a first look. Once we actually booked our venue, it actually became somewhat essential schedule-wise so we could use the space efficiently for the limited event hours. Either way, I got what I wanted and our first look is something I’ll always treasure. I don’t think I’ll ever forget the look on my Red Head’s face.
This is one of my favorite shots of the guys. I’m not sure what it is about it, but I’m blowing it up and framing it in our home.
The best gals I could ever ask to have by my side. In that small collection, I’ve got decades of friendships, thousands of stories, memories and inside jokes, and indescribable relationships I’ll always treasure.
The dapper fellas. Also a collection of decades of friendship and probably much more scandalous stories than my ladies!
Just have to take a second here and give the weather some kudos. Thank you for cooperating! Your perfect temperatures, clear skies and beautiful sunlight made our day extra perfect.
Flower girl dresses were from J.Crew and the shoes were snagged at Target (similar to these, but gold).
We were lucky enough to have our wedding officiated by my best friend’s dad. Having known their family since I was three, it was so special to have him and his wife involved in our ceremony.
Instead of a unity ceremony, we opted to write our vows and lock them away with a bottle of wine to be opened on our tenth wedding anniversary. Until then, it’s on display in our living room. The box was an Etsy find and it turned out beautiful!
