Thanks for the reminder, Marilyn. It’s time to dust off my journal and get back to it.

I didn’t watch a minute of the Oscars live and even failed to record them so I’ve relied heavily on my sister’s recap and Buzzfeed for my fix this year. I thought I had gotten most of the details from the show and then I happened upon this post from Davee. How beautiful are those lay-downs for the Best Production Design nominees? Two thumbs up and an Oscar for the creatives behind them!

So good. So, so good.
Girlfriend does it again. Love that Jennifer Lawrence.
The new season of Project Runway starts tonight! Are you going to watch? I always have a hard time with the first few episodes because there are so many designers to keep track of but by week four I’m hooked. Can’t wait to see the drama unfold and, of course, the memorable Tim Gunn quotes.

The weekend of non-stop action has come to a close and Monday has arrived. Thankfully this weekend, though busy, was a blast. Lots of time with family and friends, a movie night with my mom, an art show, garage sale-ing and a Confirmation party. Phew. The highlight was definitely Sunday morning, a Royal Tea Party and wedding viewing with a couple of great friends. I made the simplest cucumber sandwiches, we dined on scones and fruit, and toasted to the happy couple while enjoying the nuptials (the third time for me, I couldn’t stop watching!). The fascinator I wore was a hit, the day was a blast and I just hope that red head Harry has a Royal Wedding soon so we can plan another fête.
Are you watching the Royal Wedding right now? We’re about ten minutes away from the big balcony kiss! I caught a bit of the ceremony while at the gym this morning and fell in love with Pippa Middleton’s (Kate’s sister) dress. It doesn’t hurt that her body is flawless and carries this piece perfectly. It’s almost a wedding dress in itself.
Other fashion highlights and low points abound, so I’m looking forward to all the recaps later. For now, though lots and lots to do. Hope you have a great Friday and enjoy the weekend. We’re finally seeing the sun here for the first time all week so perhaps I’ll even get a chance to enjoy that. See you Sunday when all the weekend hoop-la has calmed down.

The Royal Wedding is almost here and in honor of the big day some friends and I are having a tea party on Saturday. We’ve got the DVR set to record the live coverage, the hats picked out and now all that’s left it to is gather the grub. I’ve been delegated to make cucumber sandwiches and as usual went right to Google to help me start. I’m thinking these over at Vegan Yum Yum look pretty good but I’m not too crazy about the bread choice. I’ll keep searching but if all else fails I’ll just bring extra mimosas ingredients and hopefully no one will notice! Do you have any big plans for the big day or am I the only one?
