I looked at the calendar the other day and had a slight panic attack. This is the last weekend until mid-September that I’m in town and don’t have major plans. You know what that means? Time to hit the town thrift shops! We’ve got a new (old) house to fill (closing in two weeks!) and I’m on a budget. Let’s hope the bargain gods are good to me this weekend!

It’s here! It’s finally Friday and my cousins are on their way to Minnesota for the best summer holiday in all the land! Plans include boating on Lake Minnetonka, soaking up some serious swimming + sun time, jet skiing, lazy breakfasts, walks to town and some s’more cooking. It’s going to be glorious and I am so, so excited! I’m signing off until Tuesday to enjoy every second. Hope you’re able to unplug and do the same. Have a great and safe Fourth of July!

What a holiday weekend it was! A bit of rain, a lot of sunshine, hours upon hours on Lake Minnetonka, cocktails outside, Game of Thrones viewing with friends, birthday dinners for my Red Head and tons of good times with family and friends. To say it was hard to get up at 5 a.m. this morning to teach cycling would be a gross understatement but I did it and I’m here! And I’m skipping the weekend wrap up. The internet was the least of my concerns these last few days so I don’t have many links to even share. But, the most important news of all, today is my Red Head’s birthday! I’m off to celebrate him and convince him that all the cool 29 year-old’s like to go to bed at 9 p.m. Clearly, I know how to party!

Just when we thought we could cuff the jeans, ditch the socks and move the coats to the back of the closet, Mother Nature goes and dumps a snowstorm on Minneapolis. Rude. Downright rude. I’ll just live vicariously through this image while the snow (hopefully) melts.

I was recently introduced to the work of Caroline Yang via a co-worker and now I can’t stop liking every single Instagram she posts, especially her ballet pieces. Join the lovefest here!

The temps around here have been dropping at a rapid rate so naturally I’ve been ditching the socks and wearing mostly moccasins (normal?). Might have jumped the gun on that one as I got caught in a snowstorm yesterday! We’re talking giant flakes, traffic jams, serious wind. Ugh. Oh, Midwest, you are one sneaky son of a gun. It’s back to the boots today!

The weather forecasts are not looking good tonight, my friends. I suppose they would be categorized as ‘good’ if you were looking to sled, build a snowman or ski but for the rest of us trying to get home at a decent hour I don’t think it fits in the ‘good’ category. Despite the fluffy stuff, I do have some bright points ahead tonight including some new stationery to dive into, some books on my bedside table and a fireplace that can be turned on with the press of a button. Small wins. Stay warm, friends!

For Christmas this year, we gifted the Red Head’s dad and step-mom a Friday night spent alongside the Erickson kids making pizza! The class syllabus looks is pretty intense (three types of pizza?!) and I couldn’t be more excited. Bring on the deep dish, the goat cheese, the accompanying glass of wine and a Friday night with family. It’s been a long week and I’m hoping the mozzarella helps take the edge off. Ha! Have a great weekend, friends!

If you follow me on ANY social media channels, you’ve probably seen me pimping out a new cycle studio in Minnetonka that I’m proud to be a part of. If you’re local to the Twin Cities, come ride with us this week for FREE. I’m teaching Friday and Saturday and would love to see some of your faces in the crowd as I blast the music and attempt to work the fancy lights! It’s going to be a good (sweaty) time!

For the first time in a long while, I have an empty house all to myself this weekend! Well, empty of humans. Of course, puppy will be by my side. While I would hope for a scene similar to the above, the next two days will actually be spent on a bike rather than the empty abode! I’ve been working with a new, local spin studio, Cycle Society, since July and the grand opening is just around the corner! If you’re in the Twin Cities, stop next week for a free ride (or five) on us! And be sure to enjoy your weekend, near and far.
