I penned ‘moving on’ as the title for this post and now I realize how ominous that is. Sorry, friends, I’m not going anywhere. Just moving from the bathroom project (DONE!) to kitchen planning mode. Are you ready?? Behind the scenes, the Red Head and I have been scheming, planning, brainstorming, meeting with contractors, scouting IKEA, picking my father-in-law’s brain, and pinning ideas for our kitchen re-model. We’re still very much in the ‘how the heck are we going to pay for this??’ phase but it’s fun to dream about our biggest project yet. Can’t wait to see this come together. 2020, watch out.

I have been on an epic search for reasonably priced frames with a large mat (love these, but not the price!) and was about to throw in the towel when I happened upon this solution from Elise. Thank you, IKEA. If you need me I’ll be measuring, hammering and framing for the next few days. Can’t wait for the final result!

We’ve got a date on the calendar, people. Our bathroom tile and tube are being re-glazed October 8 so you better believe I am scouring the interwebs for all the pieces to make this space come together. We’re in a bit of a holding pattern until the tile is 100% ready but I will be Pinning all the things until then. Here’s where we’re landing so far!

The Red Head and I have been chipping away at little house projects here and there this past month and it feels GREAT! We’ve got some finishing touches to put on our living room (why are curtains so difficult to find?!), we updated a leaky window well, and we’re slowly updating all our door knobs and hinges but what I’ve really got my eyes on is a bathroom re-model. I’m thinking a plaid floor might need to happen!

The countdown to carpet install is ON around the Erickson house and I’m starting to keep an eye out for details to finish the space. These little numbers from Walmart, of all places, just might make the cut for the guest room!

Once the dust (literally) settles, walls are painted and carpet is installed in our basement, we’ve got two of these bad boys ready to adorn the walls. I’m pretty pumped about them. Great size, great texture and perfect scale for our space. #targetdoesitagain

The baby countdown is really, really starting to kick into high gear over here. The Red Head is currently working in the basement (I’ll join him shortly), we’ve got a big Menards run tomorrow, three carpet quotes this week, a painting party on the horizon and lots of details to button up in the meantime. Now would be a good time to enjoy a glass of wine with the housework, if only…

I was sorting some files on my desktop the other day and found a nursery moodboard I created when we thought we were having only one babe. I chuckled a bit when I opened it! Having two cribs really changes things so goodbye to you cute couch (it’s going in the sun room/den) and you, credenza (babies will inherit our mid-century modern dresser that doesn’t hold nearly enough adult-sized things and the credenza will be used for our basement media console). It’s a work in progress and we’ve got a lot of get together these next few months but I’m excited nonetheless! Keep you posted as it all comes together.

On the list of things I’d love to have in our home one day: exposed brick walls. Also included, but not pictured here: herringbone hardwood floors, giant windows, a dutch door, and a well-behaved dog (currently working on that one).

Talk about a perfect spot to collaborate, unwind, take a conference call or crank out some work in peace. Great little office corner.
