We’ve had an old ladder floating around our house for blankets and sorts but I’m thinking that bad boy might need to be put to work on my shoe collection. Yes, yes, please.

The most perfect little corner.

I went to IKEA twice in the last three days. That’s a little much for someone like me with very little patience but I managed and I checked out the new Jassa collection along the way. I’ve gotta say, guys, it’s pretty solid. Perfect for summer with bamboo and rattan details, bold splashes of color and an ease about the pieces. I haven’t bought any pieces yet but I’ve got my eye on a few as the basement remodel comes together. I’m looking at you, basket.

I’ve really got the itch to add some statement wallpaper to our house but knowing that we only want to be here for a couple years and have our eyes set on resale value, I’m having a hard time justifying the cost and work. So, for now, I’ll just browse and pin and gawk.

After a week of painting every single surface in our living room (ceiling, trim, fireplace, hearth, lights… you get the point) we are slowly starting to make the space more livable before all the furniture is moved to the renovated basement this summer. We have plenty of THINGS but are finding the room needs some life, literally. So we’re calling in the green guys to help liven up the space and this one really caught my eye. Do I see a DIY re-make in my future?

Now that we have a functional fireplace again I’m planning all my evening activities fireside. Work out? Fireside. Finishing touches on the headboard project? Fireside. Mindless scrolling of Facebook questioning the state of our world? Fireside. The only thing that would make it better would be those two chairs above from this home. Total #goals.

Slowly, but surely, every light in the new house is being furnished with an Edison bulb. The Red Head is confused but I’m loving it! Give me those exposed filaments (is that the right word?) and curved glass, please!

This is me. Every day. And I love it. Slowly turned the Richfield rambler into a home!
