Getting in the Spirit

November 17, 2017

ebb + flow :: gone christmas

The biggest event on my list this weekend is a Christmas Warehouse Sale and I am readyyyyy! I hate to admit it but the Ericksons are going faux with their tree this year. After an unfortunate leaking tree stand on the hardwood floor situation last year, drastic measures must be taken. I’m sure I’ll find some other treasures along the way and blast the Mariah Carey Christmas album on my way both to and from the sale. I may even bust out the only piece of red clothing I own! Clearly, I’m getting in the spirit. Have a great weekend, friends!

Fourth of July

June 30, 2017

ebb + flow :: fourth of july

It’s my favorite weekend of summer, guys! Fourth of July in Minnesota is the best. I’m talking boats, bonfires, booze, sunshine, so many appetizers and usually some patriotic garb. I’m going to soak up every second so I’ll catch you guys next week (can you survive two weekends without a weekend wrap up?!). Enjoy the holiday!

Hello, 2017!

January 2, 2017

ebb + flow :: NYE

Happy New Year, friends! 2017 is here and brought with it a nasty hangover (my bad!) and the start of a cold but also some really spectacular time with friends, family and a giant grey dog. I can’t complain! Can’t wait to see all that this year brings and wish nothing best the best for you and yours. For now, though, I’m going to go slam some water, ibuprofen and cold medicine. Catch you tomorrow!

Until Next Year

December 22, 2016

ebb + flow :: until next year

Christmas is so close!! Can you believe it?! I’m in sheer denial despite the fact that I’ve been designing, living and breathing the holidays for the last two months. It’s an odd sensation but I’m going to do my best to soak up the holiday spirit. I’m signing off until 2017 for some time with family, friends, large desserts, sizeable glasses of wine and some sleep (hopefully). See you then and enjoy this season with your best. You deserve it and they’re lucky to have you!

Holy Snow

December 16, 2016

ebb + flow :: snow day

I’ll stop posting photos of snow soon (maybe?) but it’s all anyone can talk about right now. We’ve got mega snow in the forecast this weekend and a low of -25 on Saturday without windchill. Sounds like a perfect weekend for some hearty meals, movie marathons and house projects and that’s exactly what we have planned! The holiday weekend is quickly approaching too so there will be some re-wrapping of presents on the list as well. Blargh. Have a great one, friends!

Fighting with a Tree.

December 15, 2016

ebb + flow :: fighting with a tree

I’m fighting with our Christmas tree or, really, I should be fighting with myself. Someone (spoiler alert: it was me) over-watered the Christmas tree yesterday and came home at the end of the day to a soggy pile of wrapped presents. There were swear words, there was furious unwrapping, there were dramatics… it wasn’t a pretty scene. We lost a couple gifts in the fiasco and it easily could have been worse but BAH HUMBUG! Here’s hoping for no more over-watering experiences this season!

Holiday Spirit

December 9, 2016

ebb + flow :: holiday weekend

Another holiday weekend is upon us and we’re really leaning into this one. We have a gift exchange tonight with siblings, a holiday show tomorrow and a full day with friends on Sunday. It’s going to be wonderful, and very cold, but very wonderful! Sending holiday vibes your way and hopes for a fantastic weekend ahead.

Wrapping Time

December 1, 2016

ebb + flow :: gift wrapping time

I started wrapping presents around 10 p.m. last night because I was feeling antsy and the re-runs of Big Bang Theory weren’t keeping my interest. It was an odd mood but I ran with it and got a good stash of them wrapped and ready for the tree we’re getting this weekend. My wrapping paper choices weren’t quite as luxe as those above (thanks, Marshall’s!) but I’m totally inspired nonetheless. Maybe I’ll work some mustard ribbon, grey-blue velvet and dark chocolate into my next last night wrapping session!
