Happy Valentine’s Day, friends! Big plans ahead? Or do you pretend this day doesn’t exist? The Red Head and I have an exciting evening of ‘expecting multiples’ class and probably dinner on the go. I’ll take it! V-Day has never been my fave. Let’s just wish each other a ‘Happy Wednesday’ instead, yeah?

Bags are packed, presents are wrapped, desserts are assembled, appetizers are ready, halls are decked… let’s do this, Christmas! I’m signing off until 2018 but have a wonderful and safe holiday, friends!

Are you ready for all the festivities to come in the days ahead? The to-do list is feeling a little overwhelming but the Red Head and I are taking some time tonight to bell ring for the Salvation Army! The forecast is calling for snow so I think hot chocolate will be a necessity. Make mine a double!

Pals, can you believe how quickly December is flying by? I told my spin class earlier this week that there were only one more Monday between us and Christmas and got some serious flack. The denial was real! I’m leaning into the holiday spirit while I can and going to a holiday improv show tonight. I’ve got this red dress and dinner reservations waiting so I’ll see you on Sunday. Happy mid-December!

We’ve reached the time of year where I feel the need to post a tree photo as often as possible. It just feels right and I refuse to fight it. Do your weekend plans involve a Christmas tree? The only Christmas tree I’m worrying about this weekend is a gingerbread one. I’m building a gingerbread house with some cousins! I’ll likely eat more candy than help but it will be a blast nonetheless. Whatever you’re up to, have a great time, friends!

While note nearly this idyllic, the Red Head and I saw no less than 25 cars with trees strapped to the roof this weekend in our outs and abouts. As they say, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

While it’s already, somehow, been a week since Thanksgiving the celebrations aren’t over for us quite yet. I’m whipping up another pumpkin pie, making the best cookies and we’re heading to our annual Friendsgiving tomorrow. If history is any indication, it’s going to be quite the feast. Hope you have a weekend filled with good friends and food as well. Catch you Sunday!

Having a fake tree this year (gasp!), the Erickson abode is faking fresh pine scents with candles and it’s not working. Might have to grab some evergreen boughs in my travels and make this winter wonderland legit.

The tree at our home has been lit for a week already but we had a other very important trees to tend to this past weekend in Chicago. For over 20 years my family and I have spent the Saturday after Thanksgiving making ornaments out of birdseed, marshmallow, peanut butter, oranges, and more and then decorating a couple trees (one large, one small) at my dad’s cemetery. It’s easily one of my favorite traditions of the season and I’m so glad we were able to make the trip again this year. Hope those critters are feasting well right about now!

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving! Are you ready? I know I’ve been talking about Christmas for about three days now non-stop but I’m ready to hang it up for a few hours and give thanks. Our celebration his year is going to be low-key, with great people, great food and I’m sure some Vikings game viewing. I’m going to soak it all up so I’ll catch you next week. Have a great holiday, friends!
