Another weekend, another adventure. After a quiet birthday celebration, the Red Head and I are jetting to Wisconsin this weekend for a wedding celebration. One of my roommates from my Rome study abroad experience (8 years ago… what?!) is getting hitched! Now sure how the time went to fast, but I’m excited to see these two lovebirds tie the knot. Hopefully. I’ll catch you Sunday when I get back to town! Have a wonderful weekend, friends.

We are heading into our homestretch of weddings for the year (only four left!!) and I am particularly PUMPED about the one this weekend. My oldest pal (known the chica since I was three) is getting hitched! I’m so honored to stand by her side and watch her marry her match. I hope Chicago is ready for this wedding party. We’re coming!

I’m hitting the road for the 6th (or is it 7th?!) annual girls camping trip with my best pals! I’ve been a serious basket case of nerves and stress this last week as we juggled moving, an overnight out of town, a day of recovery from said overnight (when will I learn I’m not 21 anymore?!), commitments after work, early morning spin classes and a SERIOUS amount of water flooding in our new basement. So, I think some time around a campfire with cheap wine is just what I need. Governor Dodge State Park, I’m ready for ya.

I had some odd things on my to-do list the last couple days, the most curious of which was booking a dune buggy adventure in the deserts of Dubai and a day trip to Abu Dhabi. What is my life?! Ten days until we head to the UAE!

How amazing is this photo my sister took up in Door County? The Red Head and I are hitting the road at the CRACK OF DAWN tomorrow to meet her and the rest of my family in Wisconsin for a couple days of cheese, beer, beaches and merriment. After that we’re driving south to Chicago for a wedding of a dear friend. We sure know how to schedule an action-packed weekend, eh? Catch you when I’m back next week!

I looked at the calendar the other day and had a slight panic attack. This is the last weekend until mid-September that I’m in town and don’t have major plans. You know what that means? Time to hit the town thrift shops! We’ve got a new (old) house to fill (closing in two weeks!) and I’m on a budget. Let’s hope the bargain gods are good to me this weekend!

One thing I learned last week about living in MN is when you say you’re going to Austin for the weekend, people will automatically think you’re heading to Austin, Minnesota… home of SPAM. While I haven’t had a chance to visit the SPAM capital yet, I did make it to Austin, Texas this weekend and it was a blast! Bachelorette party success! Good eats (Torchy’s Tacos, Licha’s Cantina, Tacodeli), good drinks (Rainey Street!) and good times for all. Now, I need some sleep…

When I was three years old I met a spunky, freckled red head and we instantly became best friends. We’ve had a pretty good run of more than two decades of friendship and I can’t wait to celebrate her and her upcoming nuptials in Austin this weekend! I’m off to pack and try to catch some shut-eye before my flight. Texas, you better get ready!

What a holiday weekend it was! A bit of rain, a lot of sunshine, hours upon hours on Lake Minnetonka, cocktails outside, Game of Thrones viewing with friends, birthday dinners for my Red Head and tons of good times with family and friends. To say it was hard to get up at 5 a.m. this morning to teach cycling would be a gross understatement but I did it and I’m here! And I’m skipping the weekend wrap up. The internet was the least of my concerns these last few days so I don’t have many links to even share. But, the most important news of all, today is my Red Head’s birthday! I’m off to celebrate him and convince him that all the cool 29 year-old’s like to go to bed at 9 p.m. Clearly, I know how to party!

The kick-off of summer has arrived! Memorial Day in Minnesota means boats on the lake, dinners on restaurant patios, cocktails at sunset and an added pep in my step. Even though they’re predicting rain all weekend, I’m still pumped. My sister is on her way here and we always manage to have fun, even in a downpour! Hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend and start to the summer. It’s going to be a good one!
