Last week, you may recall, I mentioned my little trip to the Sandwich Antiques Market here on ebb & flow. If that wasn’t enough for you stop by the faucethead blog for a complete recap of four trends that were all the rage this month. Have you noticed any trends at your local flea markets?

Well, I managed to leave the Kane County Flea Market empty handed this weekend, which hasn’t happened in quite sometime. The muggy, foggy heat didn’t do much for my motivation either. I think it’s for the best, though. I’m running out of room to keep things. Looking ahead to the end of August, I have my eye on the Sandwich Antiques Market. I think it holds some serious promise.
A new month means a new Kane County Flea Market! After some rather treacherous storms Saturday morning I wasn’t really looking forward to the flea, but the heavens shined upon me and the clouds cleared up just in time for the market to open. Phew, crisis diverted.
I ventured into the fairgrounds armed with a list of things to look for; vanity stool, recipe box, modern chair, to name a few. Did I get any of these items? Nope. Did I still manage to buy something anyway? Yep. Funny how that works. I got that stool pictured on the left. I see a bright future for it. Literally. I need some color in my life. I imagine it one day featured in the entryway to my (for the moment nonexistent) apartment with some wonderful coat hooks above it and an umbrella stand beside it. I can just picture it now. Sigh…
The card catalog on the right caught my eye as well, but I managed to walk away. My heart already belongs to this guy. Looking forward to more flea market adventures in the future.

I am beyond jealous reading everyone’s posts from the Renegade Craft Fair in Austin this past weekend. If you’re not sure what I’m talking about check here, here and here. I consider the Chicago show in September an early birthday present and am so looking forward to it. In the meantime, I need to stop by this shop to hold me over.
