ebb & flow :: holiday decorations

It took me a little while, but I’m finally in the Christmas mood and the house decorations are slowly coming together. I snapped this photo of our mantle the other day and realized that this might be the cheapest holiday decorating we’ve ever done. Let me break it down for ya…

  • • Those stars and ribbon hanging from the top of our mirror are tree toppers from the dollar store. I just hung them upside down and affixed with red ribbon and tape to the top of the mirror.
  • • This three glass hurricanes are leftover from our wedding and also from the dollar store.
  • • The pair of wine glasses… you guessed it, dollar store. And the candy canes are leftover from last year (so if you come over, don’t eat them!).
  • • The red garland, gold candles and greenery around the hurricanes are borrowed from family that’s out of town this holiday season.

So the truth is out, so far our decorations are topping out at about $8. I’m sorry I’m not sorry. Bring it on, Christmas, I’m ready for you!
