Color Coordinated April 4, 2011

Growing up, I had a friend whose family had an eclectic dining room set. I remember many evenings spent there eating pizza and drinking pop before our sleepovers and noticing all the chairs. After many Friday nights eye-ing them I finally asked why the chairs didn’t match (that’s a normal question for an 7 year old?!) and the mom explained that the family had taken a trip to the store and each family member got to pick out their very own chair. They made sure they were unfinished when they purchased them and then stained them all the same color. Genius, right? It’s like a fun version of a family seating chart.
This home tour in the NY Times reminded me of my friend’s dining room. Everyone could pick their favorite color chair, instead of chair style. I think mine will be the black one. Any takers for the others?
The rest of the tour is pretty fabulous as well if you have a chance to check it out.
