The Do February 10, 2011

Good afternoon, friends. Sorry for the radio silence yesterday. The computer is still out of commission, the Red Head arrived for a visit and, quite honestly, I enjoyed a night off with nothing to do but watch Modern Family. But I couldn’t stay away too long (I like you all that much) so I’m using the computer at work to bring you some inspiration today.
First up, hair. Every single day I go to work with sopping wet hair (even today with the -13 degree temps) in one of three styles: the messy bun, the side braid or the side pony. Lame sauce. It’s time for me to learn how to properly tame this mane. I’m thinking the images above might be a good place to start. They’re not too different from what I’m already doing but would make me feel a bit more polished. Any suggestions on quick hair styles or products you swear by? I’d love to hear. If it changes anything, I have long, thick blond hair that has a tendency to get a bit wavy on me.

Our hair sounds uncannily similar. Drives me bonkers to dry and straighten it. I, too, subscribe to the daily pony look. If you know how to french braid, one easy trick I came up with is to braid it beginning halfway down your head (at the same spot you might pull it up to wear half up half down) at a soft angle so it goes around your head toward the nape of your neck. Then wear it in a messy bun on the side. Still easy like a ponytail but a bit more interest. Have a great weekend!
I love that idea. Thanks, Madison. I still need to master the French braid but thanks so much for the tip. YouTube tutorials here i come!
