Dream Destination #5: Greece July 30, 2010
It’s been a full week of adventure here. On Monday we visited Iceland, Tuesday we spent some time in Prague, Wednesday we ventured to Morocco, Thursday was spent in India and now it’s Friday. The grand finale. I have saved my ultimate dream vacation for last. Drum roll, please….Greece!
I have been obsessed with Greece for as long as I can remember. Whenever I see that blue water and white architecture used as a backdrop in movies or photos, my heart breaks a little. I always thought that Greece would be the ultimate honeymoon getaway. Can you picture anything more romantic than watching a sunset in Santorini? Or drinking wine on the beaches of Mykonos? Or cozying up under the Parthenon?
You know what else I love about Greece? At least how I’ve pictured it in my head. I imagine seeing just the cutest and friendliest old men (like those pictured above) on every corner. And of course they’d be wearing Greek sailor hats as well. Maybe I’ll get to see them for myself one day…
