Dream Destination #3: Morocco July 28, 2010

So far this week we’ve (mentally) visited Iceland and Prague and now it’s time to put on your adventure pants because we’re heading to Morocco. While I was studying in Italy, some friends and I had a brilliant idea to visit Africa ‘because we’re so close already.’ Shortly after plans got in motion, some tourists were kidnapped in Egypt, one of our hopeful stops, and were never seen again. After some frantic emails from parents and scorns from professors we put the ca-bash on that trip. But ever since that almost-trip, I’ve had an itch to visit Northern Africa.
I don’t usually enjoy heat, but I think I could manage. If I ever needed a reminder of how fortunate I was to be there, I could just look around at the brilliant colors, architecture details, and rich culture and faith. And can you imagine the swag I could bring home? I can just picture violet hues, gold thread, wonderful silks and an experience to last me a lifetime.
